Alicia's story

I still remember my first Jazzercise class. I remember thinking, this is hard but this is actually fun! 

I was hooked after that first class. Everyone was so friendly, it didn’t matter that I didn't know all the moves, or that I had to stop now and then to get my breath! I just felt right away that I had found my place, I was part of the gang and I had a big smile of my face.

I find that I don’t have to force myself to go to class. Not at all. I want to go. I get a big confidence boost and the dance and movement just take me away from all my day-to-day chores and responsibilities and push stress and stuff into the background.

Never boring..

Every class is different. New tunes mixed with some of my favourites - cardio, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, kickboxing and modern dance. There are so many different formats that keep me challenged with lots of variety that keeps me motivated.

The results

When I finish each class I can feel that I’ve had a full body workout – head to toe! I just feel strong and fit right from the first song to the final stretch. One 55-minute Jazzercise session can burn up to 800 calories so it’s my ticket to staying fit and healthy. I take at least a three classes each week so I feel strong, I feel fit and toned. It’s a lovely feeling!

Give it a go

I say to everyone that they should pop into the beautiful studio in Southernhay and just give it a go. If you’re like me it could become your special time – just for you. You might make some new friends and have a whole new fun thing to do that makes you feel great and look toned.
